Analysis of Linkin Park Video (Not Finished)
This is a video of Linkin Park. This video has a montage of images to create the narrative as well as shots of the band in between, the montage creates the narrative based around poverty, war and destruction, showing images of these things representing the lyrics of the song. It doesn't have a classic narrative as it has no new equilibrium, it is simply a non linear narrative as it starts how it ended.

ReplyDeleteJames for each musicc video you research please try to include when the text was released and where the group are from so you can discuss cultural identity...or what does the production communicate about the culture. Also note the iconic images of the lead singer, low angle shot which places him with the angels.
Juxtaposition of people starving in Africa and obesity in the USA - why?
References to dictatorship and the fall of dictators; post 9/11 unease in USA.
The video represents iconic events in contemporary history....I'd focus on the post 9/11 effect if possible...thus representation of a specific culture.
Try to research some artists who may have inspired your artist.
